Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

1 orange, medium
3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp frozen orange juice concentrate
¼ tsp vanilla extract
Ice

Peel the orange and add it along with all other ingredients into your blender. Blend until smooth and serve right away. This makes one serving.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 banana
6 frozen strawberries
½ cup of orange juice

Add everything to your blender and blend until smooth. This makes one serving to replace a meal like breakfast. Two small servings make a delicious snack.

Simple Green Smoothie

1 small or half a medium banana, sliced and frozen
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
1/2 cup low fat, plain Greek yogurt
Splash of skim milk ( you can also use coconut milk, soy milk, almond milk)
3/4 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 to 1 ½ cups baby spinach
Ice

Add all ingredients to your blender.  Blend until smooth. Enjoy.

Apple & Broccoli Green Smoothie

½ cup Plain Greek Yogurt
½ cup Orange Juice
1 apple, small – cut into pieces
Broccoli – experiment with amount – add to your taste
½ tbsp ground flaxseed
Ice

Add all ingredients to your blender.  Blend until smooth. Enjoy.

Tropical Smoothie

1 cup fresh orange juice
1 cup almond milk
1 bunch kale
1 ripe banana, peeled, frozen and cut into pieces
2 cups mango, frozen
¼ cup of mint leaves –experiment with the amount – add to your taste

Add all ingredients to your blender.  Blend until smooth. Enjoy.

P B & J Smoothie

1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 ½ cups frozen strawberries
1 heaping tbsp. peanut butter
1 tbsp. uncooked quick oats
1 tsp. of your favorite natural sweetener
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until everything is smooth.  Add a splash of milk if it’s too thick.

Very Berry Breakfast

1 c frozen raspberries
¾ c chilled milk (your favorite – almond, soy, coconut, etc.)
¼ c frozen cherries
1½ tbsp honey
2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 tsp ground flaxseed
2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Add everything into the blender, adding lemon juice to taste. Blend until smooth.

Avocado Breakfast Smoothie

1 frozen banana, peeled and cut into pieces
½ fresh avocado
½ cup almond milk
A touch of honey or agave

Add everything to the blender and blend until smooth.

Make It Your Own Smoothie

The fun thing about this recipe is that you can truly make it your own.  Experiment with amounts, ingredients and flavors until you find a few that you like best then add them to your daily routine.

½-1 cup of your favorite liquid
Frozen fruit of your choice up
A handful of greens like spinach, kale, romaine

Optional Ingredients

1 tbsp chia seeds
Protein powder
Natural sweetener
Avocado

Add the liquid to the blender first and then add your frozen fruit combo to the top of the liquid.  Add your greens and optional ingredients.  Blend.  Enjoy.

Chocolate Raspberry Pudding Smoothie

1 avocado
2 frozen bananas, peeled and cut into pieces
½ cup frozen raspberries
1-2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups of your favorite “milk” (coconut, almond, soy, etc.)

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend well.
