Genetics definitely play a big role when it comes to the shape of your body. However, don’t feel discouraged if genetics took its toll on you, as you can always reshape your body.
When it comes to reshaping your body, exercising is your best bet. Even though you will need some dedication if you want to see results, this does not mean that you will start spending hours at the gym with a personal trainer every day. Many people simply do not have the money, desire, or time to do something like that, but actually, it is not even necessary.
In fact, exercising is all about movement; you just need to learn to get up and start moving around. Try taking a brisk walk instead of watching the TV or taking the stairs instead of the elevator whenever you are heading up to your apartment. There are literally countless ways to incorporate more physical activity into your everyday routine.
You can benefit greatly even from simple exercises. The point is to do at least a half an hour of exercising every day (although, if you have the time, you should consider increasing the duration of your workouts).
The one thing you need to remember is that it’s never too late to start exercising and reshaping your muscles. Even people who avoided physical activity their whole lives can start developing their muscles as soon as they decide to start following a workout routine.
The greatest thing about working out is that you can do it however, whenever, and wherever you please. If you don’t like running or exercising outdoors, you won’t have to leave the comfort of your home. Doing certain exercises at home is both economical and practical (in the sense that you’ll save a lot of time, since you won’t have to get to the gym or the nearest park to start exercising).
On the other hand, if you want to lose weight effectively and love walking and/or running, then going for a long jog outside can be the perfect exercise for you.
If you’re the type of person that easily gets bored when you start exercising but you still want to maintain a healthy lifestyle, then by all means, you should experiment with as many different workout routines as possible. Within a typical week, you can go running, swimming, do a bit of weight lifting, and play a sport that you are fond of.
However, if you’re really serious about getting into shape and being healthy, then you will definitely need a well-rounded fitness program. This means that you need to incorporate different types of exercise into your workout routine.
These types of exercise include:
Interval Training
Interval training, also known as HIIT, burns more fat in 15 minutes than an hour of cardio, mainly this is because HIIT is much more efficient in the the after effects of calorie burning than cardio, even when the body is at rest.
Strength Training
Strength training helps to build lean muscle mass, which helps the body burn more fat when it’s at rest. Additionally, as you lose body fat, you will have beautiful muscles showing through, which plays a key role in reshaping your body.
Core Training
Core exercises, working your core is especially important, as it will make it easier for you to do other exercises.
Stretching
If you never exercised before, then you need to remember one specific rule – when certain exercises become too easy to complete, you need to increase either the intensity or try doing a more challenging exercise.
Between Workouts
Also, when you’re not working out, remember to still be as active as possible. This means that you should stand and walk more often. Any type of physical movement counts and provides you with numerous health benefits.
With that said, even cleaning, and vacuuming your house more often can be a great “workout” while you’re at home. All of this can lead to you successfully reshaping your body.
Know that an overly sedentary lifestyle can be very dangerous. According to the National Center on Health, Physical Activity, and Disability, a sedentary lifestyle increases risks for type 2 diabetes, heart attack, stroke, dementia, and more.
