Flexitarian is a combination of two words, flexible and vegetarian. This diet is a plant-based diet that occasionally allows you to add meats, fish, eggs, and dairy products, which makes it more flexible than a vegetarian diet. It was designed for people who do not want to give up occasional consumption of animal products but still want a more plant-based eating plan.

This diet is perfect for people wanting to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, as plant-based diets are highly nutritious and therefore great for your health. The goal of the flexitarian diet is to add more plant-based foods to your diet and slowly cut down on meat and animal products.

Gluten is a combination of proteins that can only be obtained from grains such as barley, wheat, triticale, and rye. These grains must be avoided if you are changing to a gluten-free diet.

Those diagnosed as suffering from celiac disease and other conditions linked with gluten allergies will be advised to undertake a gluten-free diet for the rest of their life. In the case of gluten allergy, even trace amounts can trigger a reaction.

If the patient’s condition is diagnosed as celiac disease or gluten allergy, rather than gluten intolerance, the only safe option is total abstinence from foods containing gluten.
