Peak oxygen uptake while cycling was greatly improved in participants on chlorella during the 4 week trial, compared to the placebo group. The results clearly show that a chlorella supplement can improve aerobic endurance.

A control group in the study took no chlorella and continued on taking their regular anti-depressants. The group taking chlorella reported feeling less anxiety and depression at the end of the study.
