What You Can't EatJust like there are things that you can eat, there are also things that you cannot eat. And even though this might seem upsetting right now, if you can hang on for 30 days then you can give your body a chance to truly let you know how it responds to certain foods. You might be surprised to find that the same foods you love now are actually foods that don’t agree with your digestive system.

So what’s out? Believe it or not many of the things that you may consider to be healthy right now might actually not be allowed.

For instance, while it might be common sense to say that there is no dairy and no alcohol during your first 30 days, it might be surprising to know that all nectars, and even Stevia, are no go during your 30 day reset. In fact, if there is any food that you’re allowed to have that comes in a desert type form, that’s out as well.

The reason for this all goes back to retraining your brain and your body to eat in a different way, as well as giving your body a chance to recover from past food choices.

Because grains are not something that the body can naturally digest, they are out. Even things that are considered healthy grains like quinoa, buckwheat, and oats are still foods that you should refrain from during the 30 day reset.

After the 30 days, you can try to add these foods back into your diet one at a time to see what, if any, effect they have on your digestion.

Legumes are out as well. This means you have to stay away from things like chickpeas, kidney beans and black beans. This can be hard for some people because many of us rely on meat and legumes to give us a burst of protein, a dose of fiber, and keep us feeling full. Luckily green beans and sugar snap peas are okay.

Remember, when you attempt to go whole in 30 you are essentially eating a stricter version of the paleo diet. So a good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if a certain foods are allowed to be eaten on a paleo diet. If not, then it’s definitely something that you should be avoiding.

On the other hand, if the food is paleo friendly then that gives you the green light to do a little more research to make sure it meets your whole in 30 needs.

Even though all this might seem a little overwhelming right now, it’s important to keep your goal in mind.

Remember things might get uncomfortable in the beginning but what you are actually giving yourself is a chance it renewed health, and to do that you need to give your body some time, 30 days to be exact.
